There is definitely room to put an apple in a modern truck :) It will be very interesting to see how much room we will have though as time goes on. What with any new safety features and regulations. On the other hand, new technologies can bring about lighter weight and smaller materials for even the most basic of mechanical functions. Like the steering column. I personally think that trucks that are using electronic signals (multiplexing for example) are already saving loads of space. Will an entire truck be run off electronics and hydraulics in the near future? It's realistic, especially if trucks take a page from F1 racing.
